Simplifies YouTube's Interface
Amazing YouTube for Chrome is a free browser extension developed by Anthony Du that aims to simplify YouTube's user interface. With this extension, various components that are considered eyesores and useless are removed, while additional nice-to-have functionalities are added using CSS. This extension is compatible with YouTube's latest UI as of the most recent update date.
Across YouTube, several UI elements are removed, including the scrollbar, Shorts, Originals, YouTube Music, Your clips, and Your videos buttons from the sidebar, as well as the Subscriptions and More from YouTube sections. Additionally, the voice search and create button from the header are also removed.
On the home page, the suggested filters below the header and all shelves in the home page suggestions are removed.
When watching videos, the extension removes annotations, suggested filters above the up next column, and text labels from buttons in the video details section. This allows more flexible items that were usually hidden to have space to show up. Furthermore, the clip and super thanks buttons are also removed from the video details section.
One notable addition that Amazing YouTube for Chrome brings is a picture-in-picture button on the video player. Although YouTube has a built-in picture-in-picture feature, it is hidden, and this extension makes it easily accessible.
